This B&K 707 Tube Tester is a mutual conductance tester that has been restored and calibrated. The B&K 707 Tube Tester is good for overall tube testing. I like this tube tester because of the use of the many sockets for tube testing eliminating all of the selector switches that need to be set for the various tubes being tested. This tends to minimize setting errors.
When I was working with a TV repairmen, he used a B&K tester because they are so easy to set up to test a vacuum tube. We needed to get a good/bad quality check on a tube so we could quickly repair the TV. In those days we made house calls to repair TVs.
Because this is a Mutual Conductance tube tester, you get a better test of the tube’s quality.

Found B & K 606 and Triplett 3243 for sale, are those any good ?
This unit was restored and calibrated for a customer. I now have a B&K 707 I will be restoring and calibrating to sell in the next few weeks. The B&K 606 and Triplett 3243 are both good tube testers, but it of course depends on what you need a tube tester for.
The B&K 747B is still for sale. I think I mis-read your comment.
Needed to restore/maintain a few 1940’s to 1950’s vintage radios and a Philco Predicta television.
Just about any of the tube testers I have for sale should work. The thing you’d want to verify is that they test the various tubes you’d want to test. For example, if you ever need to test 4 and 5 pin tubes from the 20s and 30s, you’d need a tube tester like the Precision 10-12 or the Hickok 539B. If you need to test Compactron tubes, you’d need a newer tester like the EICO 667, B&K 707 or B&K 747B.
Based on what you’ve said, I believe the EICO 667, B&K 707, or B&K 747B might be best for you. The nice thing about B&K tube testers is that they are very easy to set up because they don’t have all the selector switch settings to test a tube.
